We collect the following categories of information:

• Reservation and stay information — your name, postal address, email address, phone number, arrival and departure dates, room and rate selected, number and names of guests, special requests, accessibility needs, vehicle information, loyalty or promotional codes, and notes about your preferences or prior stays.
• Payment information — payment card details, billing address, and transaction records. Card data is collected and processed by our booking and payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
• Communications — messages you send us by email, text message, phone, web form, or social media, including call notes and recordings where permitted by law.
• Marketing information — the email address, mobile number, and name you provide when you subscribe to our journal or newsletter, book a stay, or opt in through a pop-up, form, or on-property sign-up; plus your interests, engagement history (opens, clicks, replies), and subscription status.
• Online and device information — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, search terms, time on page, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and comparable technologies.
• On-property information — security camera footage of common areas and exterior spaces, guest registration records, and incident reports.

We collect this information directly from you, automatically as you use our site, and from third parties such as our booking engine, online travel agencies, payment processors, review platforms, and advertising partners.

• To take, confirm, modify, and cancel reservations and to provide your stay.
• To process payments, deposits, incidental charges, taxes, and refunds.
• To communicate with you about your reservation, including confirmations, pre-arrival details, check-in instructions, service messages, and post-stay follow-up.
• To respond to inquiries, requests, and feedback.
• To send marketing and promotional messages by email, text message (SMS/MMS), postal mail, and phone about rooms, packages, seasonal offers, events, local guides, and journal content — subject to the consent section below.
• To measure, analyze, and improve our website, marketing, and guest experience, including audience measurement, conversion tracking, remarketing, and lookalike or similar-audience advertising.
• To maintain safety and security, prevent fraud and chargeback abuse, enforce our policies, and protect our guests, staff, and property.
• To comply with legal, tax, lodging-registration, and accounting obligations.

Email. When you book a stay, subscribe to our list, submit a form, or otherwise give us your email address, you agree that we may send you transactional messages about your reservation and marketing messages about the inn, offers, events, and Door County travel content. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time by using that link or emailing stay@wilderinn.com. Opting out of marketing does not stop reservation-related messages.

Text messages (SMS/MMS). By providing your mobile phone number to us or to our booking platform, you consent to receive text messages from Wilder Inn LLC relating to your reservation and stay. If you separately opt in to marketing texts, you also consent to receive recurring promotional messages, including offers and availability alerts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase or reservation. Reply STOP to any message to opt out and HELP for assistance, or contact us at (920) 854-2515. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties. You can opt out at any time by replying ‘STOP’. Message and data rates may apply.

Bookings made through third-party booking sites. When you reserve through our online booking engine, an online travel agency, or another authorized reservation channel, that channel provides us with your reservation details and contact information. You agree that Wilder Inn LLC may use that information as the merchant of record for your stay — to service your reservation and, where permitted by applicable law and by the channel’s own terms, to send you email and text marketing about the inn and to include your information in the marketing and advertising activities described in this policy. You may opt out at any time using the methods above.

Marketing and advertising data. We use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies — including Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking — to understand how our site is used, to measure the performance of our advertising, and to show you relevant ads on other websites and platforms. We may share hashed contact information with advertising platforms to build custom or similar audiences. Where required by law, this activity may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” and you may opt out as described below.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and limit interest-based advertising through your device or platform settings, Google Ads Settings, and industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative opt-out pages. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site functions. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where legally required.

We do not sell your information for money. We share information with:

• Service providers who act on our behalf — booking and property management platforms, payment processors, email and SMS delivery providers, hosting and database providers, analytics and advertising platforms, review and reputation tools, and professional advisors.
• Booking channels and travel partners, as necessary to fulfill and reconcile reservations made through them.
• Advertising partners, in the form of hashed identifiers or pseudonymous online identifiers for measurement and audience targeting.
• Law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
• A successor entity in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We retain reservation, payment, and stay records for as long as needed to operate our business and to satisfy tax, accounting, and legal requirements. Marketing contact records are retained until you unsubscribe and for a reasonable period afterward to honor your opt-out. Security footage is retained on a short rolling basis unless needed for an incident.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted transport, access controls, and vetted processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, to request a copy in a portable format, to opt out of targeted advertising or the sharing of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Reservations must be made by an adult of at least 21 years of age.

Our site links to third-party services, including our booking platform and local businesses we recommend. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date, and material changes may be communicated by email or a notice on our site.
